Ukiahans: Be on the Lookout for Stolen Kids Bike

Categories:

Ashley Ricci is asking Ukiahans to keep their eyes open for her child’s bicycle which was stolen the night of Thursday, July 23, 2020.

Ricci explained neighbors at her Oak Street apartment complex had experienced bike thefts, so she began locking up both of her boys’ bikes on the railing outside of their living room window.

On Friday morning, Ricci said her oldest boy noticed one of their two bicycles was missing, and upon inspection, someone had cut the chain lock and stolen the bike. Ricci will be reaching out to Ukiah Police Department today to report the theft.

Ricci said the loss of the bike has been painful because “people are going through a hard enough time as it is with the epidemic, especially the kids. It’s such a huge adjustment for them, and to take something that gives them a little bit of fun and normalcy is just heartless.”

Ricci asks that Ukiahans keep their eyes out for the black and lime green Haro Downtown 20″ BMX bike and text her at (707)671-2283 if they see it around town.
