Law Enforcement at Albion Bridge after Person Jumps Off

According to early morning scanner traffic, at approximately 6:10 am the California Highway Patrol, Albion Fire Department, and AHMC Ground Ambulance were dispatched to the Albion Bridge after a report of an abandoned vehicle turned into the discovery of a deceased individual.

The Mendocino County Sheriff/Coroner responded to the scene at approximately 6:40 am.

This scanner traffic was initially reported by Paul McCarthy’s MendocinoSportsPlus.

MCSO Public Information Officer Gregory Van Patten confirmed that a “local resident appears to have committed suicide by jumping off the bridge.” He said an “investigation is still on going.”

I like to think of myself as a reporter for the Average Joe. Journalism has become a craft defined largely by city dwellers on America's coasts. It’s time to take it back. I have been an Emerald Triangle resident since 2006 and this is year ten in Mendocino County. Please, email me at matthewplafever@gmail.com if you know a story that needs to be told.
