Sherwood Oaks Outbreak Update: COVID Positive Patients Relocated; Rapid Testing Made Available

Categories:

The following is a press release written by the Medical Director of Sherwood Oaks Doctor John Cottle:

Sherwood Oaks has implemented additional policies in collaboration with Dr William Miller, Adventist Health, and Mendocino County Health Dept.  Our local hospital agreed to take all Covid positive residents of Sherwood Oaks to relieve unsustainable demands on their limited staff.  As many as possible at Sherwood Oaks are now housed one to a room, each one in isolation.  More access to rapid Covid testing has been made available, and adequate protective gear is being supplied.  A few more temporary nursing staff have been hired from out of town.

Since the outbreak began 4 weeks ago a total of 20 Sherwood Oaks residents have tested Covid positive, 4 of whom have fully recovered, 2 more are nearly recovered, 7 are deceased, and 7 are in Adventist Health Mendocino Coast hospital in stable condition.  Of the 8 employees who caught Covid, 3 are fully recovered and the rest are stable in their homes.
