Lake Mendocino North Boat Ramp Closing Tomorrow Due to ‘Critical Water Level’

The following is a statement issued on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Mendocino Facebook page:

We have reached a critical water level where launching and retrieving boats safely on the lake is becoming an issue. We plan on closing the North Boat Ramp to boats tomorrow morning (Sunday, August 9th, 2020). The South Boat Ramp is expected to stay open for a few weeks more.

I like to think of myself as a reporter for the Average Joe. Journalism has become a craft defined largely by city dwellers on America's coasts. It’s time to take it back. I have been an Emerald Triangle resident since 2006 and this is year ten in Mendocino County. Please, email me at matthewplafever@gmail.com if you know a story that needs to be told.
