Whenever Mendocino County Public Health publishes a new COVID-19 infographic, MendoFever will compare and contrast the data with the previous infographic in hopes to shed light on trends associated with the COVID-19 pandemic in Mendocino County.
The following statement was released along with today’s updated Mendocino County COVID-19 dashboard:
COVID-19 Daily Update – 8/10/2020
22 additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Mendocino County, bringing the total to 472.
?Most significant information gained from this evening’s infographic update provided by Mendocino County Public Health:
?Looking back just over one calendar month, the total amount of COVID-19 positive tests in Mendocino County has increased 341% moving from 107 to today’s total of 472.
?45% of Mendocino County’s positive COVID-19 cases are under investigation as to their source.
?Women are contracting COVID-19 disproportionately compared to men. 209 of the infected are men(44%) 263 are women(56%).
Analysis of that data represented in today’s infographic with yesterday’s:
??????Demographics: Cases amongst the Hispanic/Latino Community increased by 19 going from 274 to 293, and cases amongst the White community increased by 3 moving from 66 to 69.
??Age Ranges: Two of the new cases are between the ages of “6-12”, three of the new cases are from the ages of “13-18”, eleven of the new cases are from the “19-34” age range, four of the new cases are from the “35-49” age range, and two of the new cases are from the “50-64” age range.
?? Gender of Infected: 209 of the infected are men(44%) 263 are women(56%).
?Source of Infection: One of today’s cases seems to come from “close contact”, one case seems to originate in “community spread”, and twenty of today’s cases are “under investigation”.
?Region of Cases: 21 of today’s cases originate in the “Ukiah Valley”, and one case originates on the “North Coast.”
????Status of Patients: The number of Mendocino County residents in isolation increased from 147 to 168. The number of patients in the hospital dropped to 12. There are now three patients in the intensive care unit. There has been a total of 472 individuals in Mendocino County who have tested positive for COVID-19. There are a total of 183 known active COVID-19 cases.
?Testing: Comparing and contrasting testing numbers shows the county received a significant amount of data back from the various laboratories. Here are screenshots of today’s and yesterday’s data to illustrate the significant increase.
