The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 11 PM Sunday to 11 PM PDT
Monday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.-AFFECTED AREA…Fire weather zones 202, 264, 276, and 277 in
Mendocino and Lake counties.-THUNDERSTORMS…Scattered thunderstorms will pose a threat for
fire starts due to lightning.-OUTFLOW WINDS…Gusty thunderstorm winds will cause ongoing
fires to behave erratically.-IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.Instructions: A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
