2.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southeast of Willits

According to preliminary reports from the United State Geological Survey, at approximately 9:00 pm a 2.7 magnitude earthquake struck 11 kilometers east southeast of Willits.

As US Highway 101 reopens after being closed since Monday, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office jokingly tweeted, “Did you feel the earth move? It wasn’t all those cars getting back on 101.”
