According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page, at 7:08 p.m small sedan struck a cow on Highway 162 north of Covelo. The reporting indicates that the driver fled after the collision.
The CHP Traffic Incident Information reveals that the cow was killed by the collision.
UPDATE 11/30/2020 6:55 p.m.
Officer Rick Fowler, the Garberville California Highway Patrol’s Public Information Officer, confirmed that in fact, two cows were killed in last night’s incident. He also said the driver of the sedan that ran into the bovine is still at large.
