Final Member of the Covelo Six Arrested in Bay Area for Involvement in Round Valley Double Homicide

24-year-old Round Valley resident Joaquina Patrice Joaquin has been apprehended and arrested in Richmond, California for her role in the kidnapping, torture, and homicides of Traci Bland and Kyle McCartney, confirmed by Mendocino County Sheriff Office’s Public Information Officer Captain Greg Van Patten.

Just yesterday, MCSO published a press release stating that five of the six suspects had been apprehended and asked for the public help in locating Joaquin.

In September 2016, Joaquina Patricia Joaquin was convicted of felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon in Tulare County.

The Covelo Six

The Covelo Six include Joseph Joshua Hoaglen, Samson Musellini Little Bear Joaquin, Joaquina Patrice Joaquin, Britton Leonard Azbill, Sr., David Joaquin, Jr., and Janet Faye Azbill. The criminal complaint makes clear they are the purported perpetrators of the November 19 kidnapping and subsequent murders of Traci Bland and Kyle McCartney.

It is important to note that all six suspects are still awaiting trial and are innocent until proven guilty.

The following information regarding Joaquin’s arrest was published by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office:

Agents from the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation OCS (Office of Correctional Safety) Fugitive Apprehension Team and personnel from the United States Marshals Office Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force have been assisting Sheriff’s Detectives in locating/arresting Joaquina Patrice Joaquin in connection with this case.

On 12-05-2020 at approximately 12:30 PM, personnel from these fugitive teams were following up on investigative leads when they located/arrested Joaquina Patrice Joaquin at the residence in Richmond, California.

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the personnel from these fugitive teams for all of their assistance during this investigation.
