A storm system will bring significant rainfall to Northwest California this weekend. Rainfall totals from 4 PM Friday to 4 AM Monday are expected to range from 1 to 3 inches, with higher amounts in the mountains. No main stem river flooding is forecast at this time, however rock and mud slides on area roads will be possible by Sunday afternoon. Gusty southerly winds are also expected, mainly over the higher elevations. Additional storms next week will likely bring more rain to Northwest California.
