The following is a press release issued by the Fort Bragg Police Department:
Fort Bragg Police Dispatch alerted Fort Bragg Patrol Officers of a 911-transfer call to CalFire dispatch of a woman in labor.
Officer Wilder, Officer Shaw and Officer McHugh arrived to the location; to find an adult female giving birth. Officers took immediate action to assist with stabilizing the birth. The “baby was born into the arms of these officers” who immediately after birth stabilized the baby checking for breathing and took measures to keep the baby warm until paramedics arrived on scene.
The mother and newborn baby girl were then transported to the hospital by the Fort Bragg Ambulance.
As Chief of Police, I commend these three officers for their quick response and action to this medical call. These officers are the same three officers who discovered the brush fire on the White Property; their actions saved a huge disaster.
HOORAY for the FORT BRAGG POLICE!! Once again, law enforcement personnel showed their multi-faceted talents while ‘executing’ their oath(s) to “protect and defend!!!!” Jobs well done!!
