New York Man Arrested for Homicide in Trinity County

The following is a press released from Trinity County Sheriff’s Office The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On December 11, 2020 at 12:00 PM, it was reported to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center that a subject on a property near Hayfork, CA, had been shot.

Deputies responded to the location and upon arrival, detained a variety of individuals. Deputies also located on the property a recently deceased individual, who appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound.

A Search Warrant was prepared and executed at the property, and all detained individuals were interviewed.

At the conclusion of the initial investigation, one subject identified as Joseph Nieves was arrested for homicide.

The matter, which remains under investigation, was an isolated incident and the Sheriff’s Office believes that the incident presents no further danger to the public.
