Officer Nathan Bjork of California Highway Patrol’s Garberville office said that at approximately 8:45 a.m. his office received reports of a non-injury crash resulting in a Chevrolet van becoming stuck in a ditch east of Covelo
Officer Bjork said his office has received subsequent calls regarding the vehicle because it is still stuck near the intersection of Hamms Pass and Mendocino Pass Road. He said the owner has been attempting to extricate the vehicle throughout the day.
As seen in one of the photographs above, Officer Bjork said CHP will often spray paint the agency’s initials and leave indicators that officers have been on scene to communicate the incident had been addressed and officers responded.
