Mendocino County’s 34th and 35th Casualties of COVID-19 Were Both Women in their 90s

Last night’s COVID-19 dashboard update provided by Mendocino County Public Health revealed two more Mendocino County residents have succumbed to COVID-19, marking the 34th & 35th deaths since the pandemic began.

Ashley Toxqui, Mendocino County Public Health’s Public Information officer provided details regarding the most recent deaths attributed to COVID-19. Toxqui said the 34th death was a 94-year-old caucasian woman from the Ukiah area “who passed away in long term care.”

Mendocino County’s 35th death, Toxqui explained, was a 90-year-old woman from the Ukiah area who passed away in hospice care. Toxqui clarified that this women’s ethnicity was unreported.

With 10 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the last 30 days, Mendocino County has seen a 40% increase in fatalities associated with the pandemic.
