22-Year-Old Ukiah Man Dies After Lake County Traffic Collision

The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol:

On January 24th, 2021, at 0005 hours, Party# 1 was driving his black 2014 Jeep Cherokee, southbound on SR-29, north of 11th St. at an unknown speed. Party #1’s vehicle veered left into the dirt center median, then veered back to the right, crossing the southbound lanes of SR-29. The Jeep continued to the right, traveling onto the dirt shoulder where it collided with a tree. The Jeep then collided with a fence before overturning and coming to rest on Mountain View Rd. Party #1 was ejected from the Jeep and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. An inspection of the Jeep revealed that Party #1’s seatbelt was not worn during the collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol contributed to this collision.

*Party #1’s identity has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
