The following is a press released issued by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On February 1, 2021 at approximately 9:20 pm, it was reported to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Dispatch that a subject was at a local area hospital with what appeared to be several gunshot wounds.
Deputies responded to the hospital and contacted Kyle Adamson. During the contact, it was discovered that Adamson had been involved in an altercation with an individual identified as Adam Heck, during which time both Adamson and Heck had been shot.
Deputies responded to the scene of the incident which had been on the outskirts of the Douglas City area on a Marijuana farm. Once on scene Deputies located Heck, who had been deceased, appearing to have sustained several gunshot wounds.
A Search Warrant was served at the scene of the incident, which yielded significant amounts of evidence.
At the conclusion of the initial investigation, Adamson was arrested for Homicide; however, the investigation remains ongoing and as information develops supplemental press releases shall be issued.
This matter appears to have been an isolated incident and the Sheriff’s Office does not believe there is any danger to the public.

UPDATE 2/3/2020
The following update was issued by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office regarding this case:
On February 3, 2021, Kyle Adamson was released from the Trinity County Jail with no pending charges.
The release occurred after the Trinity County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and determined that the Homicide had been justifiable.
