[Update: Fire Extinguished] Structure Fire and Explosions Reported in Redwood Valley

Scanner traffic indicates fire personnel began responding to 9900 Laughlin Way in Redwood Valley at 7:45 p.m. due to reports of a structure fire and explosions.

Personnel on scene are referring to the fire as the Baker Incident and told dispatch there is a “fully involved structure” and “nobody is trapped.”

UPDATE 7:58 p.m.

Personnel at the scene gave an update describing the involved structure as a barn and said fire fighters seemed to be getting a handle on the incident.

UPDATE 8:05 p.m.

Fire fighters at scene are requesting PG&E respond to the scene to cut a service drop at the property to shut off power associated with the property.

UPDATE 9:02 p.m.

In an update to dispatch, the incident commander said fire fighters had gone “defensive on this fire” and estimated personnel will be committed to the scene for several hours. Defensive mode is used by fire fighters to isolate or stabilize an incident to make sure it does not get worse.

UPDATE 11:15 p.m.

According to the incident commander, all resources were released from the Bakers Incident.
