Around midnight on Sunday, May 2, 2021, Ukiah Police Department officers responded to reports of gunshots in Ukiah’s westside. According to UPD’s Lieutenant Andrew Phillips, responding officers searched the area and found no evidence of gunshots.

Lieutenant Phillips said reports of the gunfire ranged from Low Gap Road to North Oak Street and “as far south as Pomolita School.”

Officers responded to the area and canvassed checking for “evidence of a shooting (casing, damage, etc) and found none,” Lieutenant Phillips said. He added none of the reporting parties actually saw the suspects or the shooting itself.

Ultimately, Lieutenant Phillips said UPD officers “were unable to determine if the noises were actual gunshots, fireworks, or another source.”
