Pedestrian Struck on Highway 1 North of Fort Bragg Found with Broken Arm and Bleeding from Head

As per scanner traffic, at approximately 5:30 a.m. a pedestrian walking along Highway 1 north of Fort Bragg was struck by a vehicle. The individual was located by first responders and found to be suffering from a broken right arm arm and actively bleeding from the head.

At this point it is unclear if they vehicle that struck the pedestrian stopped or kept driving.

A Reach air ambulance was requested but declined due to weather conditions. Initially, Reach personnel provided a 70 minute estimated time of arrival then changed their mind due to weather concerns. The patient is being transferred to Adventist Health Mendocino Coast.

The entire exchange heard over scanner was heavily distorted. Personnel at scene described having to drive back and forth between the incident and another location to talk with Howard Forest.

UPDATE 6:16 a.m.

Scanner traffic indicates Reach air ambulance has agreed to pick up the patient from Adventist Health and is estimated 45 minutes to reach the location.
