Categories:

As per a conversation with California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Olegario Marin, on Saturday, May 22, 2021 around 6:00 p.m. a six-year-old girl crashed into a “slow moving” Jeep in the parking lot of Ukiah’s little league baseball fields on Low Gap Road. The incident resulted in “major injuries” for the child who was then medevaced out of the area.

Officer Marin said the Jeep was driven by Daniel Weaver of Healdsburg and investigation incidated there was no drugs, alcohol, or any form of negligence involved.

The six-year-old, according to Officer Marin, was riding a scooter in the parking lot between parked vehicles without a helmet when she crashed into the side of the slow-moving Jeep.

Scanner traffic from Saturday evening indicates the six-year-old was airlifted to Oakland Children’s Hospital. As to the child’s current status, Officer Marin could not say specifically besides that she survived the incident.

Our hearts go out to the child and her family hoping for healing and a fast recovery.
