MendoMoments: Soaking Feet in a Cool Creek

Cheryl Johnson went walking with a neighbor kid this last February at Ukiah’s Low Gap Park. Johnson told us the neighbor kid “was so excited that she ran into the creek with her shoes on.”

Johnson recalled her brother in Austin, Texas was experiencing the legendary Arctic storm power outage in the Lone Start state she she sent him this picture to “warm him up.”

The picture conjures feelings of nostalgia, better days long-gone, and the magic of childhood.

MendoFever’s newest column, MendoMoments, is dedicated to showcasing the land, animals, and people that make up Mendocino County.
