According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page, a semi-tractor trailer has flipped over on Highway 162 spilling soil over the roadway.

CHP Garberville’s Public Information Officer Rick Fowler confirmed that the westbound lane is shut down and the roadway is limited to one-way controlled traffic.

Officer Fowler said there is a loader at the scene and responders are working to clean up the soil and believes it will be cleaned up “fairly quickly.”

Scanner traffic indicates the trailer is upside-down in the roadway.

UPDATE 12:21 p.m.: As per the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page, Highway 162 is now clear and one-way traffic control is no longer in effect.
