Firefighters Respond to Reports of Vegetation Fire Lit by Fireworks in Fort Bragg Along Highway 20

Categories:

Scanner traffic at approximately 10:43 p.m. indicated fire resources were needed to extinguish a vegetation fire near the intersection of Highway 20 and Symes Lane in Fort Bragg. Initial reports described the fire as being lit by fireworks. The Incident Commander reported locals extinguished the fire by the time he arrived and clarified that the fire did not spread to nearby vegetation.

Multiple reports this evening have come through scanner traffic of Mendocino County law enforcement and fire personnel responding to fireworks. It is important to remember that fireworks are illegal this year in Mendocino County. Please, protect our land, our community, and yourself by celebrating in other ways.
