[UPDATE: Rescue Successful]Medical Rescue Underway After Reports of Individual ‘Calling for Help’ Half-Way Up Frog Woman Rock

Scanner traffic indicates first responders have been dispatched to Frog Woman Rock alongside Highway 101 south of Hopland regarding reports of an individual “calling for help” halfway up the face of the prominent cliffside.

Hopland Fire, Cloverdale Fire, and a CalStar helicopter have been dispatched to the scene.

The reporting party said they would flag down the first responders from the roadside when they arrived.

UPDATE 1:38 p.m.: The victim has been located on the rock “several hundred feet up the face” and is screaming for help, the Incident Commander confirmed.

UPDATE 2:08 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported the climber was successfully extracted from the rock face and is now on the roadside receiving medical attention.

UPDATE 5:49 p.m.: The following is footage of the daring rescue by Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Henry-1 Helicopter Crew of the hiker in direstess.
