Air Ambulance Requested After Head-On Traffic Collision North of Ukiah

Categories:

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate at approximately 9:52 p.m. two vehicles collided head on near the intersection of North State Street and Central Avenue.

The Incident Commander requested two air ambulances and a ground ambulance after determining patients were suffering “traumatic injuries.”

The dispatcher and Incident Commander had to call on a Cal Fire rescue rig to stand in for the ground ambulance because all others were currently tied up in other incidents.

Initial reports indicated the collision resulted in the blocking of the roadway and one vehicle was left smoking.

UPDATE 10:26 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported the first air ambulance has landed to retrieve one of the patients.

UPDATE 10:32p.m.: The second air ambulance is inbound to the location.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.

  1. ” first ground ambulance has landed ” This makes no sense, whatsoever…

Matt, you really need to get it together… you want to play like a real journalist, but when you write things that are totally nonsensical your credibility goes down the tubes… are you in such a hurry to press the send button that you forget to proof read what you type ???.

      • It’s one thing for Old Newsman to criticize me for language clarity issues. It’s a whole other thing to claim I lied about you. What story do you refer to R-dig? What lies did I tell to make you look bad?

    • Simple mistake, nobody cares. Matt’s shown to be an exceptional journalist. On top of stories faster than any local source, with great coverage, important details, and often maps to show us where something has occurred. Most notably, he’s the least biased and most objective I’ve seen locally. Expected at some point he’d follow some agenda, push some narrative, political bias or otherwise. So far, unlike 90% of media including local, haven’t seen it. Not in any forceful, willful sense. Does it mean I’ll always agree with him? Of course not, not two people agree on everything. Doesn’t matter, he’s doing his job in the real sense and doing it well.
