Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate a roadside brush fire has ignited along the southside of Highway 1 four miles west of Leggett.
The Incident Commander reported the ??West Incident is approximately one-quarter acre, burning in the timber understory, and is moving slow rate of spread
A full wildland fire response has been dispatched to the incident including air and ground resources.
As seen on FlightRadar24.com, aircraft headed includes two tankers, an air attack, and a helicopter.
The CHP Incident page states the fire is reportedly 20 feet off the roadway.
At 12:05 p.m., scanner reports indicate that the forward progress has stopped.
UPDATE 12:10 p.m.: All additional resources have been canceled with the exception of one water tender.
UPDATE 4:26 p.m.: Aircraft and ground fire resources have been directed to a second location where the West Incident seems to have flared up in the heat of the afternoon. The Incident Commander reported this new manifestation of the West Incident is approximately one mile away from the original burning 1-2 acres downslope. Two tankers, a helicopter, two hand crews, a dozer, and an air attack have been requested to the scene.
