The Car of Urban Cool Meets Humboldt’s Savage Seas- It Does Not Go Well

Categories:

McKinleyville resident Anthony Brittain and his girlfriend were walking along Centerville Beach west of Ferndale around 4:15 p.m. today when they came across a sight to behold: a Tesla X, the vehicle of the urbane elite, enraptured in the tentacles of the Pacific slowly but surely being dragged to sea.

Brittain told us nearby the eco-friendly car-of-the-future awash in waves was its driver, with “earbuds in, depressed, watching the waves hit it.” His girlfriend commented that the driver looked sunburned, and “not from here.”

It looked as if the driver was heading back toward’s the beach’s parking area, Brittain said, and when he turned around the sand was too loose and too deep.

As to the future of the submerged brainchild of Elon Musk, Brittain said the next high tide could see the vehicle wholly underwater making it very difficult to recover without specialized equipment.

Let this be a lesson to all who travel here. If you’re in a Tesla, stay on the road.
