Four Structures Reportedly on Fire in Clearlake Oaks

Firefighters in Lake County are fighting a second large fire today, this one in Clearlake Oaks on Hoover Street near 2nd Street.

Four structures are burning in what is known as the Hoover Fire.

Power lines are down.

There are evacuations reported in the area.

The flames are not spreading into the wildland at this point.

Kent Porter, a well-known photojournalist with the Press Democrat, is on the scene.

UPDATE 7:07 p.m.: Helicopter pilot working the fire reports that the threat to the wildland is almost completely mitigated.

UPDATE 7:09 p.m.: The Incident Commander requested a medical unit for a firefighter with heat exhaustion.Scanner traffic indicates the Hoover Fire has been contained and spot fires have been put out.

UPDATE 7:43 pm: The CA Fire Scanner Twitter page indicates the Hoover Fire has been contained to its block of origin and spot fires have been put out.

Kent Porter, photographer for The Press Democrat, took a video of firefighters relinquishing seven cats they rescued from the fire to and providing them for firefighter rehab.
