A 7-year-old child reportedly has been rescued from a burning home in the 1200 block of Locust Street off of Walnut Street in Willits as of 9:30 p.m., according to reports over the scanner. Little Lake Fire Chief Chris Wilkes has confirmed this fire did occur destroying an accessory building and and damaging two others but he specified there was no rescue of a 7-year-old child. This reporting came from initial scanner reports that proved to be incorrect.

Multiple nearby structures threatened. Access is difficult to the area.

  1. It would be awesome if people could avoid the area. I watched a firetruck blare it’s horn at a pickup that wouldn’t move as it was trying to get down Locust Street. Our fire crews don’t need the delays.
