[UPDATE: Traffic Now Open] Two-Vehicle Traffic Collision with Major Injuries Shuts Down Highway 20 Near Lake Mendocino

Categories:

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate a major injury traffic collision has occurred near the intersection of State Route 20 and Marina Drive along the northern shore of Lake Mendocino. The lanes were closed to provide time for first responders to extract a party from one of the involved vehicles.

Two air ambulances have been requested to address some of the injured parties.

The CalTrans Quickmap indicates traffic is significantly impacted by the incident with traffic stopped in both directions.

Scanner traffic at one point indicated an elderly male was being treated for major head trauma.

The collision is reportedly between a silver Dodge Ram truck and a red sedan, both experiencing major damage.

UPDATE 12:50 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported that traffic is now open.
