Woman Falls Off Cliff at Glass Beach Requiring Medical Response

At approximately 3:31 p.m. scanner traffic indicated medical personnel was dispatched to Fort Bragg’s Glass Beach after a 54-year-old woman fell off a cliff suffering a compound fracture of her ankle.

Reportedly Fort Bragg Police Department and an ambulance responded to the scene and an air ambulance was called for as well.

The ambulance is going to rendevous with the air ambulance at Adventist Health Mendocino Coast due to fog.

UPDATE 5:10 p.m.: The following overview of the incident and subsequent response was provided by the Fort Bragg Police Department on their Facebook page:

Officers with the Fort Bragg Police department, along with members of the Fort Bragg Volunteer Fire Department, California State Parks, California Highway Patrol, and Adventist Coast Ambulance, responded to the area of Glass Beach, for the report of a patient that fell from an elevated position above the beach and sustained a leg injury. The patient was transported from the beach by first responders, then to Adventist Hospital by ambulance, where they were then flown to Howard Memorial for further care.
