Law Enforcement Responding to Reports of a Carjacking in Covelo

Scanner traffic at approximately 10:10 a.m. indicated Mendocino County Sheriff’s deputies are responding to reports of a carjacking that occurred near the Covelo Airport.

The victim reported to dispatch that a black 2006 Dodge Ram with a camper shell was stolen by “two Indian male adults” associated with a gray Camaro. The reporting party was unclear whether the pair had a weapon but did describe something being in their hand.

Dispatch and responding officers are discussing potential suspects of the incident and have requested a Be On the Lookout bulletin be issued to neighboring agencies.Please remember that this story is unfolding.
