[UPDATE: Video] Small Vegetation Fire Flares Up Behind Ukiah’s Baskin Robbins Quickly Contained

Categories:

At approximately 5:30 p.m. scanner traffic indicated Ukiah Valley Fire Authority was dispatched to a vegetation fire on 514 East Perkins Street behind Baskin Robins Ice Cream near the Pear Tree Shopping Center.

The Incident Commander described the fire as contained totaling one-eighth of an acre. The Perkins Incident reportedly spread at a slow rate with little potential for getting larger due to its proximity to concrete parking lots.

UPDATE 5:46 p.m.: A Ukiah resident sent us the following video of the Perkins Incident as UVFA firefighters were mopping up the scene. The resident told us an employee of a nearby kitchen took a fire extinguisher to the scene and was the first one to start extinguishing the flames.
