Firefighters are currently on scene of a fire burning in Jackson Demonstration State Forest. The Incident Commander reported the fire is burning in timber, growing at a slow rate-of-spread, and approximately one-half acre in size with the potential to be one acre.
Agencies including CalFire and Mendocino Fire were dispatched to the Thompson Gulch area off of Little Lake Road at approximately 8:54 a.m.
UPDATE 10:26 a.m.: Personnel at the scene are reporting the fire’s forward progress has stopped.
UPDATE 11:17 a.m.: The Incident Commander reported firefighters have established a line around the fire which is holding at 3/4 of an acre. He said there would be a three hour commitment time to fully extinguish the fire.
