[UPDATES] Medical Responds to Old Hopland After Reports Emerge of Man Hit in Head with Bottle

At approximately 5:10 p.m., Hopland Fire and a ground ambulance were requested to the 800 block of Highway 175 in Old Hopland regarding reports of a man suffering injuries after he was struck in the head with a bottle.

The suspect was reportedly in the area breaking windows and is described as “hostile” and has been hostile towards law enforcement in the past.

The dispatcher told responding personnel that staging is required at this scene, indicating that medical personnel will wait outside the immediate incident area for law enforcement to assure it is safe.

UPDATE 5:33 a.m.: Law enforcement at scene reported the suspect has been detained and gave medical personnel the go-ahead to enter the scene and to treat the wounded.
