[UPDATE: Air Ambulance Responding] Occupants Heard ‘Cry and Yelling’ After Two Vehicles Collide Near Intersection of Highway 101 and Uva Drive

As of 8:39 p.m., scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate a white Sienna van and a silver truck have collided near the intersection of Highway 101 and Uva Drive near Redwood Valley. The Incident Commander has reported there are two patients as a result of the collision.

The reporting party told dispatch occupants in one of the vehicles was “cry and yelling.” The truck is reportedly blocking one of the lanes while the van is off the roadway suffering front-end damage.

UPDATE 9:06 p.m.: An air ambulance was requested to the scene by the Incident Commander. The dispatcher reported the closest air ambulance was estimated to arrive in 67 minutes and the Incident Commander responded the incident required one that was closer. The dispatcher said that was not possible so the nearest one was requested to the scene.

UPDATE 9:35 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported the incident has been terminated.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong.
