A cold front is forecast to approach northwest California from the north-northwest during Tuesday afternoon. West winds will increase ahead of the front, with gusts from 15 to 30 mph possible across portions of Trinity, Lake, and northeast Mendocino Counties. In addition, a very dry low-level airmass will yield afternoon relative humidity values in the teens. The combination of gusty west winds and a dry airmass will support locally critical fire weather conditions Tuesday afternoon and evening.
