At approximately 9:24 p.m. scanner traffic indicated law enforcement was in pursuit of a suspect driving a silver Dodge Durango who failed to yield after an attempted traffic stop. The suspect foot bailed in Brooktrails at approximately 9:32 p.m. and within six minutes medical personnel was dispatched to the area after it was determined the adult male suspect was reportedly overdosing.
Scanner traffic described the vehicle pursuit running through the north end of Willits when the suspect drove up Sherwood Road reaching upwards of 75 miles per hour. He reportedly foot bailed near the intersection of Sherwood Road and Timberline Road, ran down a ravine, and officers found him showing signs of an overdose. Responding Mendocino County Sheriff’s deputies were asked to use Narcan at the scene.
