Vehicle Collides with Utility Pole on Branscomb Road

Categories:
Traffic Collision Feature

Both scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate CHP officers, Laytonville Fire Department, and medical personnel have been dispatched to the intersection of Branscomb Road and Mulligan Lane southeast of Laytonville after a vehicle collided with a power pole.

The CHP Incident page indicates the vehicle was reportedly “speeding around the corner” when it struck the power pole. The Incident page also indicates the collision resulted in some sort of fire, but that has not been confirmed via scanner traffic.

UPDATE 12:23 p.m.: The CHP Incident page indicates the incident is being characterized as a non-injury traffic collision.

UPDATE 12:30: The Incident Commander has requested PG&E respond to the scene. He described the utility pole as sheared off though the lines are still intact.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.
