[UPDATE 11:43 a.m.: Forward Progress Stopped] New Incident, the Bachelor Fire, Starts During Red Flag Warning in Lake County

About 11:15 a.m., a new fire, being called the Bachelor Fire, off Bachlor Valley Road, started in Lake County north of Hwy 101. The Incident Commander reports the fire is “hree to four acres” and burning at a “moderate rate of spread.”

As of 11:30 p.m., the Incident Commander reports that the fire is threatening several structures.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.

UPDATE 11:43 a.m.: The Incident Commander reports that the forward progress has been stopped. He let remaining resources not yet on scene return to base. He said there would be extensive mop up to extinguish the remaining hot spots though.
