[UPDATE: Fire Contained] Vegetation Fire Burning at Cloverdale’s River Park

Scanner traffic beginning at approximately 9:27 p.m. indicated a fire was burning somewhere near the intersection of Highway 101 and 128 in Cloverdale south of the Mendocino/Sonoma County Line.

An Incident Commander reported the fire is approximately 1/2 acre in fact burning near the center of the River Park. The fire is burning a mix of grass and heavy scrub brush and growing at a moderate rate of spread.

A dispatcher at 9:51 p.m. characterized the incident as multiple fires burning within the River Park area.

UPDATE 10:18 p.m. The Cooley fire is reportedly contained and personnel will be in the area for the next two hours for mop-up.
