Multi-Vehicle Traffic Collision North of Laytonville Significantly Impacts Highway 101 and Leaves One Driver with Head Injuries

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate at approximately 3:56 p.m. a three-vehicle traffic collision occurred north of Laytonville leaving part of the roadway blocked and reportedly one vehicle fled the scene. 

The Incident Commander stated over the scanner to dispatch that two vehicles are blocking Highway 101 in the northbound lane and one vehicle is partially blocking the southbound lane. A third vehicle is reportedly off the roadway.

At least one driver involved in the incident has suffered head injuries. An air ambulance has been requested to the scene.

The CalTrans Quickmap indicates that traffic is severely impacted as a result of the incident.

The CHP Incident Information page describes the three vehicles involved in the collision as a white Toyota Tacoma, a dark SUV, and a white Ford F550 “fire engine type.” The details are still getting worked out indicated by the log also describing a gray vehicle and black truck.
