The following information was published on the City of Ukiah Recreation Facebook page:
Community members are invited to the Dia De Los Muertos Community Altar to bring an “ofrenda” (offerings) to honor their loved ones who have died. Traditional offerings include a framed photo (8×10 or smaller), marigolds, sugar skulls, flameless candles, or masks.
We will be having a Dia De Los Muertos Celebration with live music, pan de muertos, champurrado (hot chocolate), face painter, and arts and crafts on Monday, November 1st from 4:30 – 7 pm.
I love my family who have passed away and I remember them anytime I want to. I tell my grandkids about them. And they live on in my heart.
Erecting an altar is a form of worship
And MY worship is reserved for my God. He is my beloved and all of my worship and altars will to Him alone ????
What a wonderful tradition to share with our community. Thank you.
