A black column of smoke is rising from a structure fire in the 13,200 block of Nokomis Road east of Hopland that was first called in about 2:19 p.m.

The structure or structures in flames are outbuildings burning near multiple other structures and there is concern that the fire could spread.

UPDATE 2:43 p.m.: Hopland Fire Department and Cal Fire have significantly reduced the flames and, according to Matt LaFever who is on the scene, it looks like they are bringing the whole fire under control.

UPDATE 3:09 p.m.: Hopland Fire Chief Mitch Franklin told us the fire consumed a trailer and is under control. Chief Franklin said extensive mop-up would be required and recent rains provided peace of mind for those concerned adjacent vegetation could light on fire and spread.

  1. This is in Hopland not Round Valley. My family lost everything they owned no matter however it looked outside. Does that even matter? Thank God they are all ok.
