
The California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicates at approximately 3:46 p.m. a Nissan Rouge drove off Highway 101’s southbound lane just south of the Highway 162 junction.

Reports from first responders at 3:57 p.m. indicated the driver was still in the vehicle when they arrived at the scene.
Pictures of the scene sent to us by a reader show a rain-slicked roadway and California Highway Patrol, fire personnel, and a MedStar ambulance at the scene.

The Caltrans Quickmap indicates traffic is slowed in the area of the incident.
A tow truck was requested to the scene and there is reportedly minimal room for the tow truck on the shoulder of the road.
UPDATE 4:44 p.m.: The victim is being taken to Howard Hospital in Willits.
