Man Found Dead in Vehicle Off the Side of a Rural Roadway Southeast of Willits Yesterday Afternoon

Categories:

Preliminary information offered by Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Captain Greg Van Patten confirmed that yesterday afternoon an adult male died after driving off a rural roadway southeast of Willits.

Captain Van Patten told us that reports received around 2:25 p.m. yesterday indicated a vehicle was spotted “off the roadway down a steep hillside” near the 3001 block of Blackhawk Drive.

Investigators determined that the driver was deceased and MCSO’s coroner’s report shows “CHP as investigating it as a traffic accident.” The decedent is an adult male, Captain Van Patten told us, and authorities are still attempting to locate and notify the next-of-kin.

We have reached out to both the Ukiah CHP and Garberville CHP offices to get more information.
