[UPDATE: Traffic Collision Ends Pursuit] Active Police Pursuit Starts in Ukiah Reaching Speeds of 110 MPH

Scanner traffic beginning at 11:57 p.m. indicated law enforcement is actively engaged in a police pursuit through the city of Ukiah.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office and the Ukiah Police Department are in pursuit of a gray Mercedes sedan with tinted windows. As of 12:01 a.m., the vehicle was turning southbound onto Highway 101, passing Burke Hill Road.

UPDATE 12:07 a.m.: CHP reportedly has visual of the vehicle, described as a lowered, new model silver Mercedes sedan with tinted windows.

UPDATE 12:16 a.m.: CHP is following the vehicle on Old River Road going northbound, back towards Ukiah, reaching speeds upwards of 85 mph.

UPDATE 12:18 a.m.: The vehicle is now driving westbound on Talmage. The vehicle is reportedly smoking due to what an officer believes is a blown tire.

UPDATE 12:21 a.m.: The vehicle is said to reside on the 300 block of Brush Street and law enforcement thinks the driver might be attempting to travel to the location. The vehicle reportedly has two flat tires had is “still going” as described by a pursuing deputy.

UPDATE 12:24 a.m.: The vehicle collided with a taxi cab in front of the Co-op. An ambulance has been requested to the scene.

This is a fast-moving situation and we will update the piece as it develops.

    • CHP doesn’t keep a copter here.
      MCSO leases 1 on an open ended case by case basis.
      So where should the copter come from?

      CHP usually deploys 1 from Sac or Redding bcuz the Bay area choppers are almost always busy 24/7.

      How long do you think that takes to get here?

  1. Yet another low information individual who cannot understand the issues at hand.

    If your car was stolen, and the cops saw it but refused to pursue, claiming it was “too dangerous,” you would be shrieking.
