The following is a press release issued by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
After the arrest of Nova Deperno in Sonoma County on January 13th, 2022, detectives from Lake County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit were able to interview Deperno regarding the disappearance of Lucerne resident Ron Meluso. Deperno provided statements linking him to the disappearance and subsequent murder of Meluso.
On January 14th, 2022, Deperno assisted detectives in locating human remains in a rural area off Bartlett Springs Road in northern Lake County. The remains are strongly believed to be Ron Meluso, and detectives are in contact with Meluso’s family. Arrangements are being made to confirm positive identification.
Today, January 21st, 2022, Lake County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Detectives officially arrested Nova Deperno for the murder of Ron Meluso. Deperno is currently being held at the Lake County Correctional Facility.

DA will have no problem with sending this punk up the river! He is a narcissistic, homicidal sociopath! There are enough of you out there that have been victimized by him, that at sentencing, we should all show up, in force, and make sure he never sees the outside of a prison EVER again!

I am Ron’s niece, he was with my uncle for over 15 years. I’m working on gathering statements from other victims of Deperno and his associates, as well as people willing to testify to his (lack of) character at the eventual sentencing, if he doesn’t plea out. Not everything will be admissible, but the more we have the better chance we have at establishing a pattern of viscous/dangerous behavior..
