[UPDATE 8:54 P.M.: Located] Elderly Man Missing Off Mountain House Road Between Hopland and Yorkville


Information is preliminary at this point, but an elderly man is missing off of Mountain House Road south of Hopland.

Scanner traffic indicates the man has dementia. He is reportedly wearing a green t-shirt, blue jeans, and a sweater. Reports indicate he is thought to be in the area of the 20000 block of Mountain House Road

This reporter saw multiple Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office vehicles driving down Mountain House Road, as well as members of the Hopland Fire Department. 

The Incident Commander is requesting Henry-1, the helicopter associated with emergency response situations from Sonoma County.

Temperatures are expected to drop tonight to 39° F, which brings the threat of hypothermia.

UPDATE 8:54 p.m.: Search crews at the scene are reporting they’ve located the missing man. They “are working their way into him,” reported one searcher. He was located at about 8:30 p.m. An ambulance is responding to the area.
