Fatal Traffic Accident on Lake County Side of State Route 20 Near Cache Creek Wilderness

Tragedy struck this morning in Lake County after an individual succumbed to injuries sustained from a single-vehicle traffic accident on State Route 20 near Cache Creek Wilderness.

The California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicates the incident occurred at 7:50 a.m. after a vehicle “flipped down [an] embankment” on the east side of State Route 20 with a reported subject inside the vehicle. Crews are still working to extricate the vehicle from down the embankment.

The Caltrans Quickmap indicates traffic is flowing smoothly through the area.
